Islamic Movement of Nigeria

There’s been something of an ongoing stand-off between the Shiite dominated Islamic Movement of Nigeria and the country’s government. The leader of the group – Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky was jailed in December 2015 when security forces killed hundreds in a crackdown on the group. There have been daily protests demanding his release – and it all came to a head at the end of October when dozens were killed in Abuja. Arise News correspondent Faith Orr has been to meet the organisation. The allegations raised in this report were put to the Presidency but they refused to comment.
